Campground tickets racing out the door!

With less than five months to go until the 2012 AirAsia Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, campground tickets are racing out the door.

The family-friendly campground facilities are always hugely popular with MotoGP fans who want to be close to the on-track action but this year the rush for tickets is unprecedented.

Australian Grand Prix Corporation Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Westacott said that sales have gone through the roof since Casey Stoner’s retirement announcement at Le Mans last month.

“We are expanding the campground facilities for this year’s event to meet the high demand," he said.

“We are encouraging all fans to get to Phillip Island this October to witness history as Stoner attempts to make it six straight Australian MotoGP victories in his last home race.”

Campground sales are currently more than 150 per cent up on the same time last year. Fans should buy their tickets now to avoid disappointment.

Able to accommodate everything from simple two-person tents to deluxe motor-homes, the two well equipped campgrounds feature easy access to the circuit, a general store and bottle shop, live entertainment on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and the all-important hot showers – it’s the full MotoGP experience!

To access the campgrounds, a circuit entry ticket (3-day general admission or grandstand) plus a campground ticket, must be presented upon arrival at the Campground Ticket Office.
