Disability Information

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation endeavours to provide a safe and comfortable environment for all patrons at the 2012 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix, including persons with a disability. Please read the information below or download the Disability Information Brochure at the bottom of the page.

TICKETING

General Admission

Tickets for people with a disability are available through Foxtix on 1800 100 030. General Admission tickets admit access to a dedicated viewing platform at the southern end of the Gardner Straight grandstand which has doubled in size this year.

Public conveniences and catering outlets for use by people with a disability are located in close proximity to this dedicated viewing platform.

Concession prices only apply to General Admission tickets.

VIP Hospitality

VIP hospitality facilities with wheelchair access are available in the Pit Roof VIP Village (Platinum or Gold) facility.

CONVENIENCES

Wheelchair accessible toilets are strategically located around the circuit. Please refer to the latest circuit map for locations.

PEDESTRIAN ENTRANCE GATES

All pedestrian gates into the circuit are wheelchair accessible. Gate opening and closing times are TBC

WHEELCHAIRS

A limited number of manual wheelchairs will be available for use within the circuit. These wheelchairs will be available from the Event Office, located near the Gate 7 pedestrian entrance.

CAMPGROUNDS

Highside Campground has campsites available for people with a disability, with toilets and showers located in very close proximity.

There are also a limited number of powered sites available within this Campground. Trackside Campground provides accessible toilets in the Entertainment Area only.

Campground tickets can be purchased through the Grand Prix Travel Office on 1300 300 701.

CIRCUIT TRANSPORT

A FREE wheelchair accessible shuttle service will operate within the circuit, on all days of the event. Access to the infield, including hospitality areas and the National Support Paddock is only available via the internal shuttle service.

Priority will be given to patrons who pre-book the shuttle service by calling the bus driver on 0402 443 000.

Event day bookings can be made directly with the driver. The driver’s mobile phone number will be available from all Information Booths at the Event, and at the designated shuttle stops at all pedestrian entry gates.

TRANSPORT TO THE EVENT

Circuit Parking

There is a designated parking area for people with a disability located directly opposite Gate 7. Cars will need to display relevant disabled parking identification to access this area. The dedicated circuit shuttle bus service will collect from this car park.

Coach Service

A pre-booked wheelchair accessible bus will operate from Melbourne CBD (Federation Square) to Gate 3, departing at 7am each day of the event. Bookings for this service are essential through Foxtix – 1800 100 030.

Taxis

Patrons can utilise existing multi-purpose vehicles, but should make allowance for the extra demand during the event period.

COMPANION CARD

Companion CardCarer Card

The Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is affiliated with the Companion Card to ensure all patrons have full and equal access to the event.

When the holder of a Companion/Carers card attends an event with a paying disabled patron, they will receive a second ticket of the same value at no charge or at a reduced price.

Companion Card holders are entitled to a reduced price for corporate tickets and limited grandstand seating is available in selected grandstands.
