Roulettes
Roulettes back for 2012!
The popular RAAF Roulettes will thrill the crowds with their precision flying and aerobatics in the skies above Phillip Island daily at the 2012 AirAsia Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
When the Roulette pilots are not teaching flying instruction to already qualified pilots, they practice for their aerobatic displays. During these, each pilot uses only hand-eye coordination to fly at speeds of up to 590 kilometres per hour. At times, the aircraft are only three metres apart.
The six Roulettes ‘pull’ up to 4.5G during a flight (or 4.5 times the force of gravity); with Roulette 5 pulling as much as 6G.
