Doohan winning over crowds at Phillip Island once again
The Australian Grand Prix Corporation is excited to announce the launch of a brand new 696-seat premium grandstand named in honour of Australian Motorcycle legend Mick Doohan at the 2012 AirAsia Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix.
The all-new Doohan Pavilion is located on Turn 2 with sensational views of the first four corners as riders sweep their way around the Southern Loop.
Based on the success of the Stoner Pavilion in 2011, patrons of the Doohan Pavilion can enjoy their own hospitality marquee located behind the grandstand with access to food and beverages, private television screens and merchandise all in a comfortable, under cover facility.
During his career, Mick Doohan enjoyed great success at the Australian MotoGP claiming line honours three times, making the new Doohan Pavilion a fitting tribute.
“I am honoured that the Australian Grand Prix Corporation has named this new facility after me,” said Doohan.
“I had some great results at Phillip Island throughout my career and there is nothing better than racing in front of a home a crowd. I look forward to mixing with the fans at the circuit and visiting the pavilion in October.”
With tickets already in hot demand, those wishing to secure their place in the Doohan Pavilion are advised to act quickly. Tickets are available from $450 for the three days of the event.
