Regional Bus Services

Dandenong to Cowes

V-line operate a coach service from Dandenong Station to the Cowes, linking up with the Suburban train line to/from Southern Cross and Flinders Street.

Cape Patterson to Cowes

South Coast Bus operates a service between Cape Paterson and Gate 3 at the Circuit on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the Event.

The bus services the following locations:

  • Cape Paterson

  • Dalyston
  • Kilcunda
  • Anderson
  • Gate 3 (Phillip Island Circuit)

Ride or Drive

If you are travelling by motorcycle or car from Melbourne, access to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is:

  • via Citylink or East link tollways
  • Monash Freeway
  • South Gippsland Highway
  • Bass Highways to Anderson
  • Phillip Island Tourist Road across onto Phillip Island
Get to the island - Road

From the Monash Freeway, signs will clearly identify the route to the circuit, which will include clear directional signs to the circuit parking areas.

Cleelands Bus Lines offer a simple pickup/drop-off service between your accommodation and Gate 3. Bookings are essential.

At the Island - Taxi

For Taxi service on Phillip Island please call (03) 5952 2200.

The Taxi rank is located at Gate 1, near the main Gate 1 bus stop.

Please note that Taxis are in high demand during the Tissot Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend and long delays may apply.

As the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix roars into Phillip Island in Victoria’s scenic Western Port from October 17 – 19, 2014, the whole Island will be buzzing with a wide range of natural experiences and engaging attractions to explore. There are three main public car parks at the Phillip Island Circuit:

All public parking is paid for upon arrival at the car park (cash only) – no purchasing prior to Event days is available but tickets can be purchased in advance for following event days at the car park entrance gates.

At the island - Bus

There are four shuttle bus routes at the Phillip Island Circuit:

Exit from Circuit to Public Transport
At the circuit

For Catch-a-Coach and other Private and School Coaches, please exit out of Gate 3 and turn right.

For Phillip Island Shuttle Buses and taxis, please exit out of Gate 1 and cross Visitor Centre Drive to the Shuttle Bus queuing area.

The helipad can be accessed by exiting out of Gate 7.

Exit from Circuit to Car Parks
At the circuit

For the Circuit Car Park please exit out of Gate 7.

For Patton’s Car Park please exit out of Gate 1, cross Visitor Centre Drive and follow signs to Patton’s Car Park.

For Lukey/Siberia Car Park please exit out of Gate 3, turn left and cross Back Beach Road.

When leaving Car Parks
At the island

Circuit Car Park

Cars will be parked upon entry by return destination. On exit, Cowes vehicles from the Circuit Car Park will be directed out of Gate 2 and turned left. Melbourne vehicles from the Circuit Car Park will be directed out Visitor Centre Drive and turned right.

Please be patient when leaving the circuit and carparks, please follow directions of Car Park Staff and Victoria Police.

Patton's Car Park

Cowes vehicles will be directed right out of Patton’s Car Park and Melbourne vehicles will be directed left.

Please be patient when leaving the circuit and carparks, please follow directions of Car Park Staff and Victoria Police.

Lukey/Siberia Car Park

All Vehicles will be directed left out of Lukey/Siberia Car Park.

Please be patient when leaving the circuit and carparks, please follow directions of Car Park Staff and Victoria Police.

Blue Line Operation

When leaving the Circuit along Phillip Island Road (east of Back Beach Road) and the Bass Highway, two Melbourne bound lanes will operate with the aid of special blue line marking. Please be aware of this blue line and keep under the speed limit.
