Community Day

Bass Coast Shire residents will once again receive free AusGP Island Pass (formally known a General Admission ticket) for Friday 25 October 2019. Present your proof of residency of the Gate 1 Ticket Office on either Thursday 24 or Friday 25 October 2019 to receive your complimentary AusGP Island Pass.

Aerial display times

The aerial display this year will be The Roulettes - the Royal Australian Air Force's aerobatic display team. These planes fly as low as 80 metres but are quieter than the jets that have performed in previous years.

Once the times for the aerial display are confirmed they will be listed here or on the track schedule.

Road closures

Traffic restrictions will apply from Thursday afternoon until Sunday night:

  • Thompson Avenue from Chapel Street to The Esplanade
  • The Esplanade between Bass Avenue and Warley Avenue

Gap Road (south of Back Beach Road) will be closed to all traffic except Catch a Coach services from Friday 25 – Sunday 27 October 2019.

Gap Road (north of Back Beach Road) will be closed to all traffic except accredited vehicles for the event and where local access is required, from Friday 25 – Sunday 27 October 2019.

On Sunday 27 October 2019, Back Beach Road will operate one-way westbound from Beachcomber Avenue to the Circuit during the entry phase (approximately from 6:30am to 2:00pm). It will switch to operate one-way eastbound from the Circuit to Phillip Island Road during the exit phase (approximately from 2:00pm to 6:00pm). Changeover/removal of the one-way operation of Back Beach Road will be determined by the Police on site.

Please note that heavy fines and tow-aways will apply for cars and motorcycles parked illegally at the circuit, on Phillip Island Tourist Road and on other designated roads around Phillip Island.

Traffic management / Blue line

The Blue Line will be in operation on Phillip Island Road between Back Beach Road and the Bass Highway merge on Sunday 27 October 2019 (approximately from 3:00pm to 7:00pm).

The Blue line adds an additional lane of traffic for vehicles exiting Phillip Island by utilising the emergency lane.
