Learn Trackside

The Learn Trackside education program allows students to immerse themselves in this cutting-edge segment of the automotive industry and be thrilled by the on-track racing whilst learning about the advancing technologies behind the sport.

Students are inspired to pursue their interests in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and understand the diverse pathways and careers that STEM and the motorsport industry can offer. 

School groups who have registered for the program will be given FREE ACCESS to the Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2018 on Friday 26 October.

Learn Trackside FAQ


Gates open at 8:00am on Friday 26 October 2018; there is no admittance prior to this time. Gates close at 7:00pm on Friday 26 October 2018.


Tickets will be sent to registered teachers as e-tickets, for you to print at your convenience for both you and your students.

Please ensure you print these prior to arriving at the circuit.

Sunscreen and Ear Plugs

All students will be provided with ear plugs and sunscreen; these are to be worn during the day and will be distributed at the Learn Trackside area located at the Spokes Entertainment Stage near GP Expo.


Teachers will be provided a complimentary showbag with STEM resources, circuit maps/timetables and a student information booklet offering educational insights into the world of MotoGP™.

Showbags will be available from the Learn Trackside area located at the Spokes Entertainment Stage near GP Expo.

Bus/Coach Parking

A drop off/pick-up zone is available at Gate 3. Click here to view the coach access map.

All-day parking is available for coaches, free of charge, however please be aware this is subject to availability.

Plan Your Own Schedule

We encourage planning the day as seen fit for you and your students. The Spokes Entertainment Stage is the on-site destination for all students – all education activities are based in this area. Education attractions of interest include:

  • Student Seminars. Be inspired by industry experts who will be delivering their individual success stories and talking about career progression and pathways. This session will commence at 11:40am for approximately 20 minutes.
  • Live Demonstrations. Students will learn the science behind the sport with hands-on live demonstrations from MotoGP™ suppliers including:
    • Tyre science used in the racing environment
    • Advancing technology used to keep the riders safe
    • These sessions will commence at 12:00pm and last approximately 20 minutes.
  • Student Educational Booklet. One booklet has been included in your pack on arrival. If you would like to print a booklet for each student, a printable PDF will be available shorty.

Food and Drink

Students and teachers can bring lunches and drinks, however please keep in mind food storage and refrigeration areas are not available at the event.  Additionally, a wide range of food and beverages are available for purchase at the circuit.

Security Checks

All patrons are subject to security checks. All bags will be checked at all gates prior to entering the circuit.

It is recommended schools check bags prior to arrival to avoid being held up on entry.

Please remember this is a teacher-run day. Education and event staff will be on hand to offer assistance, but they are unable to coordinate your group.
