Biography

Francesco Bagnaia battled through 2018 in the Moto2™ class against fellow rookie Miguel Oliveira, winning the hotly contested title and being named World Moto2™ Champion. After two successful seasons in Moto2™, the Italian has been promoted to MotoGP™ with the Alma Pramac Ducati Team.

Bagnaia has been described as the protege of legend Valentino Rossi - having graduated from Rossi's VR46 Academy and will hope to emulate some of his fellow countrymen’s success. Having earned Rookie of the Year previously, expect a tight contest between the newly promoted group of rookie rivals.

He knows how to win races with his head as well as his talent and after crashing out of three of his last five Grands Prix at Phillip Island, and with a best-ever race finish of eleventh in Australia he'll be looking to make improvements on his return to the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019.
