The former Moto3™ World champion debuted at Phillip island in 2015, drafted to replace an injured rider.
He campaigned his first full season the following year where speed and consistency earned him three podiums, one win and Rooke of the Year status with fifth overall.
In 2017 he was unstoppable, notching up 13 podiums including 10 wins to claim the Moto3™ World Championship. Consistent point-scoring finishes in his debut Moto2™ season, including three podiums, are why he was signed by Suzuki’s MotoGP™ team in 2019.
Mir has one win at the Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix in Phillip Island from his Moto3™ Championship season in 2016. He’ll join rookies Fabio Quartararo, Francesco Bagnaia and Miguel Olivera in 2019 in a competitive rookie field, expect an exciting battle for Rookie of the Year honours.
