With only 100 days to go until the Pramac Generac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019, at Phillip Island from the 25-27 October, the countdown is on.

The Pramac Generac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019 is an event like no other. Stunning backdrops surrounded by Phillip Island’s wildlife, electrifying and competitive racing and an exciting line-up of on-track activity promises fans a must-experience event.

To celebrate the 100-day countdown, the Australian Grand Prix Corporation (AGPC) is honoured to announce Wayne Gardner as the official event ambassador of the Pramac Generac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019.

This year marks the 30th anniversary since Wayne’s historic win in the inaugural Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Phillip Island in 1989.

Wayne’s ambassadorial duties will include acting as an event spokesperson, hosting guests across the event weekend and sharing the Pramac Generac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019 story with a wider audience.

“It’s incredible to think 30 years has passed since this very special sporting moment at Phillip Island and in Australian sporting history. I’m extremely honoured to be recognised as an Event Ambassador by the Australian Grand Prix Corporation,” said Gardner.

“I’m looking forward to watching my son, Remy, and fellow Aussie, Jack Miller, race on this amazing circuit that is loved by all GP riders and to see the Australian fans support the up and coming talent of this great sport.”

AGPC General Manager of Motorsport, Entertainment and Industry, Craig Fletcher, is looking forward to hosting another fantastic weekend at the iconic Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit.

“To be celebrating Wayne Gardner’s thirtieth anniversary since his 1989 win at the first GP at Phillip Island and to watch Aussie MotoGP™ rider Jack Miller and Remy Gardner in Moto2™ on the circuit, it’s an extremely exciting time for the local fans,” said Fletcher.

“With a highly competitive first half of MotoGP™ season, it’s expected to be a thrilling second half, so to witness the world’s best riders ‘on the edge’ at one of the fastest circuits on the calendar, will be spectacular for the fans.”
