FIM MotoGP Helmet Rule Changes 2019

The Grand Prix Commission has met and discussed a range of technical changes and adjustments for the 2019 MotoGP season.

Key notes from this meeting include the implementation of stricter anti-tampering controls, allowing the Technical Director immediate download access to all MotoGP ECUs’.

This new access will allow verification of electronic data before potential tampering can occur, further ensuring a level playing field for all competing MotoGP teams.

Additionally, the International Motorcycling Federation has introduced a new standard helmet design for the 2019 MotoGP season.

The new helmet standards are even more thorough than previously, including technological leaps in oblique impact testing and impact energy absorption.
