Australia’s Remy Gardner is targeting an improved 2019 following a career-best finish to end his time with Tech3 Racing Team at the weekend.
Gardner produced a stunning ride to take fifth place in the Moto2™ race at the season-ending Valencia GP on Sunday.
The wet and wild race conditions suited Gardner, who carved his way through the field after starting from 17th on the grid.
The 20-year-old lapped as fast as the leader in the second half of the race, taking P5 with a perfectly executed move on the penultimate lap before finishing a fraction of a second behind Mattia Pasini.
It was a moment to savour for Gardner, who joins the SAG Racing Team aboard a Kalex for the 2019 Moto2™ season.

“I was a little disappointed to only qualify 17th but knew if it continued to rain for the race, we could get a good result,” Gardner said.
“It was a long race, but I am super happy to finish fifth – by far my best race and my best race finish in Moto2™.
“It was a fun race and good to end the year and my time with Tech3 this way. Big thanks to them, and big thanks to everyone who has been supporting me.
“Time to relax a little now and then come back even stronger next year where I will be with a new team.”
