Australian Remy Gardner is looking forward to a strong showing on home soil after finishing in the Moto2™ points at the Japanese GP.
Gardner, who crossed the line in 15th place at Motegi on Sunday, has vowed to “put on a show” at his home GP – the Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2018 – this weekend.
The Tech3 Racing rider was as high as eighth after qualifying 13th in Japan, before a possible faulty tyre caused issues for him in the Moto2™ race.
“It’s always tough when you have a mixed bag in terms of weather on opening day, but we started well, and my pace was good in both wet and dry,” Gardner said.
“As soon as the race started I had no rear grip at all, and we are sure it was because of a duff tyre.
“We scored another championship point and that’s important as we head to my home race.
“I can’t wait to get to Phillip Island and put on a show for the home fans.”
