Team Honda pair Troy Herfoss and Jamie Stauffer will start from the first two positions on the grid in the opening Superbike race of the 2015 Pramac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix weekend at Phillip Island.
Herfoss, who leads the Phillip Island Superbike Championship heading into this weekend's finale, held sway for the majority of the 20-minute qualifying session with a best lap of 1:33.173.
The only time his authority looked in real jeopardy was when Stauffer unleashed a flyer at the tail end of the session, but the veteran just fell short of dislodging his teammate with the 1:33.231.
Yamaha's Glenn Allerton (1:33.465) completes the front row of the grid, and the second line of attack will comprise Wayne Maxwell (Yamaha, 1:33.608), Daniel Falzon (Yamaha, 1:33.929) and Cru Halliday (Yamaha, 1:34.076).
Maxwell actually went faster than Herfoss in this morning's practice session with a 132.982, but was unable to replicate the same speed in the battle for grid positions.
Twenty-one riders made it through qualifying, and will line up for race one, an eight-lapper, at 5:05pm on Friday.
