Fans will enjoy plenty of exciting off-track entertainment at the Michelin® Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2017, with the all-new Urban Alley open for business.
Located at Gardner Village, Urban Alley is home to Urban Garage, Urban Art and the Urban Chop Shop.
Urban Garage features a stack of customised bikes presented in unique a scaffold frame. Fans will also be able to vote for their favourite bike at motogp.com.au.
At Urban Art, fans will see motorsport-inspired works of art created right before their eyes. Each artist has a unique style and talent, and will be working on exclusive pieces over the weekend.
Need a haircut? A hot towel razor shave? You’re in luck! At the Urban Chop Shop, the skilful barbers from Melbourne CBD’s Rockit Barbershop are offering a selection of traditional barber shop services, starting at $20.
But be sure to get in early as services are provided on a first in, best dressed – or groomed – basis.
Also at Gardner Village, the GP Expo is a popular attraction, with over 30 exhibitors displaying a wide range of products and services.
Check out the latest bikes from motorcycle manufacturers, browse motorcycle apparel and view the latest motorcycle accessories. The GP Expo is FREE to all fans attending the event.
Is your little one an up-and-coming MotoGP™ star? Test their skills at the Junior GP Challenge, where youngsters can try out Australia’s No.1 selling fun bike, the CRF50F.
Need a coffee fix between races? The Spokes Lounge will be offering free coffee across all three days of the event, plus your chance to win a brand new Honda Motorcycle.
DeWalt will also be giving you the chance to win daily prizes by being the fastest to drive five screws in the DeWalt Drive 5 Championship Series, located trackside.
The action continues at Lukey Heights, where fans will be entertained by the best in BMX freestyle and stunts with the FreestyleNow crew.
An action-packed ramp and jump show will see the BMX athletes perform multiple times each day, wowing crowds with their thrilling tricks and talent.
Get up close to your heroes at the Spokes Entertainment Stage, hosting appearances from VIPs, MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders, as well as motorsport legends.
The Support Paddock Stage will be the home to autograph sessions and Q&As with Australian Superbike and Australian Supersport riders, as well as other VIPs.
Accessed via the infield pedestrian overpass, access is FREE to all fans.
Make your way to the National Support Paddock to get up close to Australia’s best local riders and for an inside look at the world of motorcycle racing, including support garages for the Superbike and Supersport 300 categories.
Campers will continue to be entertained after the track action ends each day, with free entertainment nightly at the Trackside Entertainment Zone.
Friday and Saturday will feature acoustic sets by local acts Dan Lunn and Eric Collier, followed by a BMX stunt show with FreestyleNow pulling out their best tricks before energetic rock bands take to the stage to round out each evening.
MotoGP™ will descend on The Island from 20-22 October.
