Riders United 2018 FAQ

When is the event taking place?

The Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix is scheduled to take place on 26-28 October 2018.

When will I receive my Riders United membership ticket?

For members that have opted to have their tickets sent to them, tickets will be sent via Australia Post (or UPS courier for international members) from August 2018.

Tickets will only be sent once full payment has been received. If there is a change in expected delivery time, this will be communicated via email.

If you have changed your address after purchase or have not received your Riders United tickets by Friday 31 August, please email: ridersunited@grandprix.com.au.

Where can I collect my Riders United tickets at the circuit?

If you have chosen to collect your Riders United tickets at the circuit, these will be able to be collected from Gate 2 Riders United/VIP Ticket Collection office. Click here to view directions.

Hours of collection:

  • Thursday 25 October 09.00–16.00
  • Friday 26 October 07.30–16.00
  • Saturday 27 October 08.00–16.00
  • Sunday 28 October 07.30–15.00 

Please ensure you bring a valid form of ID to collect your ticket. If someone is collecting your ticket on your behalf, you must complete the Letter of Authorisation Form here and print it out to pass to your nominated person.

Since I have purchased my ticket, my contact details have changed. How can I update my details?

You have the ability to manage your account and update any of your details at any time. For change of address, email or phone number, you can log in to your account by clicking here and update your details accordingly.

Please note that any change of details needs to be emailed to ridersunited@grandprix.com.au to ensure your details are updated.

What is a Pit Lane Walk and what are the dates and times for 2018?

A Pit Lane Walk gives you a glimpse into MotoGP™ behind the scenes to witness the team garages first hand.

As a Riders United member, you won’t get a better MotoGP™ experience anywhere else on The Island.

The Pit Lane Walks have been scheduled for the following times*:

  • Friday 26 October – Afternoon 13.30–14.00
  • Friday 26 October – Evening 17.55–18.25
  • Saturday 27 October – Afternoon 12.50–13.25
  • Saturday 27 October – Evening 17.00–17.35
  • Sunday 28 October – Morning 09.55–10.30
  • Sunday 28 October – Afternoon 12.00–12.30

To access the Pit Lane Walks you must show your exclusive Riders United ticket, lanyard and your Pit Lane Walk wristband allocated to the day/time you have chosen.

Please note that your wristband must be visibly worn and that no replacement will be allowed for any lost, stolen or forgotten wristband.

After heading over the overpass to the infield, please proceed around the back of the GP Paddock and assemble at the Northern End of Pit Lane at least 15-minutes prior to the start time. Late arrivals may not be permitted to participate. Please refer to the map below and follow the pink dotted line across the over-pass and around to the Pit Lane Walk assembly area (footprint icon).

What is a Gardner Straight Walk and what are the dates and times for 2018?

Riders United members have the exclusive benefit of a Gardner Straight Walk (Main Straight Walk) to walk the holy ground where your favourite MotoGP™ riders speed past at 300km/h on Gardner Straight. Get a chance to see where the riders will start on the grid for the main race a few hours later.

The Gardner Straight Walk is scheduled on Sunday 28 October 2018.

Details of the Gardner Straight Walk are as follows*:

  • 07.30 - Gate 7 only open to Riders United members for the Gardner Straight Walk 
  • 07.55 - Gardner Straight Walk commence
  • 08.25 - Gardner Straight Walk concludes

Please note that late arrivals may not be permitted to participate.

Present your 3-Day/Sunday Riders United ticket and lanyard on the morning of Sunday 28 October for access. Please note that food and drinks are not permitted on the Gardner Straight Walk and must be kept in your bag or disposed of prior to entry.

How do I become a Riders United member in 2018?

To automatically become a Riders United member, you must purchase a three-day Grandstand or 3-Corner Grandstand ticket by the end of the membership campaign.

How do I purchase tickets?

What is Save Your Seat?

All 2017 members can secure the same seat they had in 2017 for the 2018 event at 2017 retail prices.

Members will be sent an email advising them when they can purchase their seat for 2018. Members can purchase online or through the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline.

Save Your Seat has ended for 2018.

What is Preferential Seat?

For 2017 members who did not purchase their tickets during the Save Your Seat period, they will have the opportunity to purchase new tickets in a different location.

All seats that have not been purchased during the Save Your Seat period will be released to purchase for other members to buy during this period at 2017 retail prices, before they go on sale to the general public.

Preferential Seat has ended for 2018.

Does my Riders United membership automatically roll over each year?

Riders United membership does not automatically roll over each year.

To renew your membership, you must purchase a 3-Day or 3-Corner Grandstand ticket in the nominated period to become a member for the following year.

What is a payment plan?

A payment plan is only available when purchasing a Riders United membership. You will be able to pay your tickets in three (3) separate instalments.

Please note, any change of address needs to be emailed to ticketing@grandprix.com.au by 1 June 2018, before Riders United tickets are sent out.

What happens if I lose my Riders United membership ticket?

Contact the Grand Prix Ticketmaster Hotline on 1800 100 030 with your purchase details and your original tickets will be cancelled.

Depending on when the tickets have been reported missing, new tickets will either be sent out to you or made available for collection on event days by prior arrangement at the Riders United booth located at the Gate 2 Accreditation and VIP Ticket Collection Office.

A fee may be charged for the reissuing of your tickets.

Can I upgrade my ticket from General Admission or Grandstand to Riders United?

Tickets cannot be upgraded. To become a Riders United member, you must purchase your Grandstand ticket during the Riders United booking period.

Can I become a Riders United member if I purchase after 10 May 2018?

Riders United membership is only available for 3-Day or 3-Corner Grandstand tickets if purchased by 11.59pm AEST on 10 May 2018, or once membership has reached capacity.

There is no opportunity to become a Riders United member after this date or once capacity has been reached.

Are there Child tickets for Riders United and Grandstands?

No. Grandstand tickets are only available with Adult ticket prices.

Infants less than two (2) years of age are permitted to enter the Grandstand free of charge as long as they do not take up a dedicated seat.

If you require a seat for your infant, you will be required to purchase a ticket for them and the seat they will occupy.

Are there Concession tickets for Riders United and Grandstands?

No. Grandstands are only available with Adult ticket prices.

Can I pick my own seats?

Yes. If you are purchasing a 3-Day Grandstand ticket online, you can select your own seats.
