Summary

Travel towards Eltham via the Northern Highway and from here, you can take the Eltham Road across to Yarra Glen and onto Healesville via Eltham Yarra Glen Road. A neat back road will add interest to your journey and goes straight past the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery. From there, go through the Dandenong area using Monbulk Road towards Puffing Billy and head for Phillip Island via the South Gippsland Highway.

Guide

Stop off at Yarra Valley Chocolaterie & Ice Creamery for a memorable break. You can enjoy free chocolate tastings, watch more than 250 chocolate products be produced, buy what takes your fancy and relax in the all-day cafe serving up a host of treats and drinks. A huge outdoor set-up offers plenty of room to move when you’re done, too! Alternatively, you could visit Innocent Bystander for great wine and local produce.

SPOKES TIP: We need all road users to slow down and take care, particularly on high-speed country roads.

Consider pulling in at the Puffing Billy Cafe or Earthly Pleasures Cafe for lunch or a coffee. There’s also SkyHigh in the Dandenong Ranges for great cafe food with a view.

SPOKES TIP: We are in the time of year that the number of riders on Victorian roads increases sharply and with that, the risk of crashes involving motorcycle riders is higher.

When you make it to Phillip Island, check out The Nobbies boardwalk for a stroll that comes with spectacular, postcard views that will make you reach for your phone to take a photo.

Enhance your MotoGP™ visit by staying at Phillip Island or close by. Accommodation is available at the circuit or across the island. You will also want to explore all that Phillip Island has to offer. Tickets for the Pramac Generac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019 are available here.

Ride Highlight

Chum Creek Road (C724) from Toolangi to Healesville is an amazing 20km stretch of twists and turns through forest lined roads, and less busy than the popular Black Spur Drive nearby.
