Start by going over the Oxley Highway and through the Apsley falls, before you get onto Thunderbolts Way, a popular area to ride. Then go over the coast on the sweepers of Bucketts Way, down the old highway at Bulahdelah and back over to the Devils Hills. The Murray Valley Highway, Tawonga Gap and the Great Alpine Road are fantastic riding roads, before you head to Phillip Island via the Bass Highway.

Want a rest? The Oxley Wild Rivers National Park is worth a look, offering camping options to recharge the batteries. You can also stop here for lunch, with BBQ facilities and great views on offer.

SPOKES TIP: We all have a role to play in keeping each other safe on the roads.

Bulahdelah looms as another terrific option to stop, stretch the legs, grab a drink and watch the world go by. The coffee and cake at Cafe on Main proves popular in this town.

SPOKES TIP: It has been a tragic start to the year on Victorian roads, with 172 people losing their lives in the first seven months of 2019, compared to 114 in 2018.

Once you are nearby to the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit, check out the Pyramid Rock lookout. This viewing spot is at its best in the morning or evening, with two viewing platforms to watch spectacular sunrises and sunsets.

Enhance your MotoGP™ visit by staying at Phillip Island or close by. Accommodation is available at the circuit or across the island. You will also want to explore all that Phillip Island has to offer. Tickets for the Pramac Generac Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix 2019 are available here.

Ride Highlight

Considered one of Australia's best riding roads, and named after the famous Great Ocean Road, the Great Alpine Road winds through mountains, valleys and forests. Take your time and pace yourself through the 303km journey, and importantly, be prepared for cold weather.
