The Blue Line will be in operation on Phillip Island Road between Back Beach Road and the Bass Highway merge on Sunday, 16 October 2022 (From 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm approximately).
The Blue line adds an additional lane of traffic for vehicles exiting Phillip Island by utilising the emergency lane.
Traffic restrictions will apply from Thursday afternoon until Sunday night:
- Thompson Avenue from Chapel Street to The Esplanade
- The Esplanade between Bass Avenue and Warley Avenue
- Gap Road (south of Back Beach Road) will be closed to all traffic except Catch-A-Coach services from Friday 14 – Sunday 16 October 2022.
- Gap Road (north of Back Beach Road) will be closed to all traffic except accredited vehicles for the event and where local access is required, from Friday 14 – Sunday, 16 October 2022.
On Sunday, 16 October 2022, Back Beach Road will operate one-way westbound from Beachcomber Avenue to the Circuit during the entry phase (approximately from 6:30 am to 1:00 pm). It will switch to operate one-way eastbound from the Circuit to Phillip Island Road during the exit phase (approximately from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm). Changeover/removal of the one-way operation of Back Beach Road will be determined by the Police on site.
Please note that heavy fines and tow-aways will apply for cars and motorcycles parked illegally at the circuit, on Phillip Island Tourist Road and on other designated roads around Phillip Island.
Bass Coast Shire residents will once again receive a free Island Pass (General Admission) for Friday, 14 October 2022.
Present your proof of residency at the Gate 1 Ticket Office on either Thursday 13 or Friday 14 October 2022 to receive your complimentary Island Pass (GA).
The aerial display this year will be The Roulettes - the Royal Australian Air Force's aerobatic display team. These planes fly as low as 80 metres but are quieter than the jets that have performed in previous years.
Once the times for the aerial display are confirmed they will be listed here or on the track schedule.
Phillip Island is the place to be for an action-packed MotoGP™ weekend. Cowes has an exciting program of activities and live entertainment, kicking off on Thursday, 13 October 2022.
