MotoGP™ 2021 season preview with Simon Crafar

Thursday, 25 March 2021

The new season is set to excite.

The official Australian Grand Prix podcast In the Fast Lane has released its first MotoGP™ episode of 2021, featuring MotoGP™ race winner and popular pit lane reporter Simon Crafar, presented by spokes.com.au.

In the Fast Lane host Matt Clayton was joined by his new co-host for 2021, MotoGP™ race winner Chris Vermeulen, to interview Crafar. Together they preview the 2021 season, assess Jack Miller’s title chances at Ducati, discuss the continuing recovery of Marc Marquez, and look ahead to the Qatar Grand Prix.

With Miller leading the times out of testing at Losail this month, Crafar says it is great to see the effect Miller is having on the Ducati team, however, he stresses that the real test will come in more challenging moments of the season.

“Jack is so likeable to be around, you can see the atmosphere in the team is great,” Crafar said. “It’s really good to see his confidence up.”

“You know the real test will come in the difficult times, meaning how Ducati treat him, help him and how he copes when they get to a track, for example, that doesn’t work as well for the Duc,” he continued.

Crafar goes on to explain that what the Aussie brings to the sport extends far beyond the track.

“Jack is such a character, he will do so much for the championship if he is going well, and the other guys as nice as they, they’re quite boring when you get a mic in front of them, and Jack isn’t – he’s hilarious and brilliant, so that’s what I think he’ll bring to the championship if he does well.”

The In the Fast Lane podcast is available on Spotify, Google Podcasts and Apple Podcasts platforms.
