The Aussie will compete in Japan’s most iconic motorcycle race.
Aussie MotoGP™ star Jack Miller is set to make a return to endurance racing, joining the factory Yamaha Racing Team for the 2025 Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Road Race.
In a major announcement from Yamaha, Miller has been confirmed as the second rider in their factory line-up for the 46th edition of the prestigious Japanese event. The race, part of the FIM Endurance World Championship, will be held from 1–3 August at the iconic Suzuka Circuit.
This marks Miller’s first appearance at the Suzuka 8 Hours since 2017 with Honda, when he finished just shy of the podium in fourth place. Now, eight years later, the Queensland native is back—this time aboard the Yamaha YZF-R1 and with his sights firmly set on victory.
“It’s obviously a massive honour for me to represent Yamaha at the Suzuka 8 Hours this year. It’s a race I’ve been wanting to go back to since 2017. I’m thrilled to ride the Yamaha R1 and represent the factory team in Japan at such a prestigious event.”
Miller’s return to endurance racing also carries historical weight for Australian fans. The last time an Australian rider won a race on a Yamaha at Suzuka was in 1988, when Kevin Magee triumphed alongside Wayne Rainey. Now, nearly four decades later, Miller can etch his name alongside Magee’s in Yamaha’s storied racing history.
The Yamaha Racing Team will conduct private testing on 3–4 July before official practice and qualifying begin on Friday, 1 August. The event will culminate in the traditional Top Ten Trial on Saturday, followed by the race on Sunday.
