Aussie rider Senna Agius finishes ninth in Moto2™

Wednesday, 9 November 2022

What a result from the New South Welshman.

It was an easy story to miss with the feisty championship battles that were taking place at Valencia but Senna Agius scored an impressive ninth-place finish in the Moto2™ class.

Agius received the call-up once again to deputise for the injured Sam Lowes and he repaid their faith with a strong points finish.

His previous best result was sixteenth back in Aragon – showing the quick progression the Aussie is making.

“It was a hard one!” Senna said.

“I got bullied a bit in the first laps and got stuck behind some slower riders.

“I just couldn’t pass them and use the advantage when the tyre was new.

“But I finally got past them and put in a good rhythm at the end to break the group.

“I got a taste of racing the World Championship and I can’t wait to get back here someday in the future!”

Agius’ future still seems to be up in the air for 2023 after four Moto2™ appearances this year.

Hopefully his rides have caught the eye of several teams looking to blood new talent for the upcoming season.

The young Australian will be returning home to Australia to ride in the final round of the Australian Superbike Championship for the Penrite Honda team.

Jack Miller and Joel Kelso will also be entering as wildcards at the South Australian track.
