Marc Marquez gets back on a motorcycle

Friday, 14 January 2022

A positive step for the Spaniard.

Fears about Marc Marquez’ future in MotoGP™️ appear to be alleviated after the 8-time champion got back on a motorcycle for the first time in months.

The Spaniard has been suffering from Diplopia, a serious condition in which the simultaneous perception of two images of a single object may be displaced horizontally or vertically in relation to each other.

Marquez underwent a medical examination with Dr Sánchez Dalmau this week to analyse the situation of his double vision.

The ophthalmologist confirmed a clear improvement and gave him clearance to get back on the bike.

After a three-month absence, he returned to riding at the Ponts Circuit (Lleida) on a Motocross bike and he feels optimistic after his first ride back.

The next step for Marquez will be to ride on the tarmac, something he will do very shortly.

We still don’t know he’ll be fit for the first Sepang test, but hopefully, this is a clear sign that his condition is improving, and he’ll be ready to go for the first race in Qatar.
