Gardner rides to best-ever MotoGP™ result

The Aussie led the first double points finish for the team.
Remy Gardner has ridden to his best-ever MotoGP™ finish at the Catalan Grand Prix.
The Australian rider started in Catalunya from the 20th position and controlled his tyres throughout the race to cross the chequered line in P11.
Gardner got off to a solid start gaining four positions and moving up to P16.
With the Australian moving up through the grid and fellow countryman Jack Miller slipping through the field, the pair found themselves fighting for positions.
Remy's tyre control throughout the early stages of the race meant he could push hard in the final few laps, passing two riders on the final lap of the race.
Nine rounds into the MotoGP™ season is how long it took the Tech3 KTM Factory Racing team to witness its rookie riders both score points on the same weekend.
Fellow teammate Raul Fernandez collected a single point with a P15 finish.
“We got a good result which is really encouraging for the team and myself,” said Gardner.
“There have been a lot of crashes, but I managed to stay on the wheels and fight until the end. I was even able to overtake both Franco Morbidelli and Darryn Binder in the final lap, so we can say that we deserve this result.”
“I am really happy for everyone involved, and we now need to continue in this positive direction.”
We’ll next Remy Gardner racing at the German Grand Prix at the Sachsenring on June 19.
