Since? Fernandez’s premier-class career has seen him ride for three teams, score no podiums and never finish better than 16th in the standings. There’s something undefinable that makes you think he could turn that around, but an increasing impatience as the years tick by and new, younger, faster compatriots emerge.
With Miguel Oliveira’s departure, Fernandez is now Trackhouse’s senior rider, and will be looked upon to lead as the only Aprilia man with any previous experience on the RS-GP with Jorge Martin and Marco Bezzecchi joining from Ducati, and with Moto2 champion Ai Ogura as his rookie teammate.
