Marco Bezzecchi’s pre-MotoGP™ career followed a pattern; start slow in whatever category he was in, build gradually, and become a front-runner by season two.
That cadence looked set to be tested after his rookie MotoGP™ campaign produced just one podium and a 14th-place championship finish in 2022, but as always, ‘Bez’ was building up steam.
Ducati riders at other teams may have won the title (Pecco Bagnaia) or stolen the headlines (Jorge Martin) in 2023, but Bezzecchi – when he was at his best – was untouchable. Amazing in Argentina and fearless in France, the Italian was invincible in India, defying the heat and decimating his rivals to take perhaps the most emphatic win of the season.
Can he sustain that form over an entire campaign? That’s one question that remains unanswered. But there’s no doubt his peaks are up to the task, and a solid launch pad for whatever happens next.
