Top Ducati honours for Miller at European GP

Monday, 9 November 2020

The Aussie fought his way through the pack.

Australia’s Jack Miller claimed top Ducati honours at the European GP, despite a tyre-choice gamble that failed to pay off.

Miller elected to use a hard front tyre on his Pramac Ducati but had to settle for P6 in Sunday’s MotoGP™ race at Valencia.

The 25-year-old, who started from sixth on the grid, struggled off the line and dropped as far back as 11th place on the opening lap.

But he fought his way back through the pack, eventually engaging in a battle for P5 with Miguel Oliveira, who crossed the line less than a second ahead of Miller.

The race was won by Suzuki’s Joan Mir, who extended his MotoGP™ World Championship lead, followed by teammate Alex Rins and Pol Espargaro (Red Bull KTM).

The result leaves Miller ninth in the MotoGP™ standings with two races remaining.

Miller returns to Valencia this weekend for the second of two consecutive rounds at the same circuit, scheduled for 13-15 November.
