Miller satisfied with fifth-place finish at Aragon GP

Monday, 19 September 2022

The Australian started second on the grid.

Jack Miller has finished fifth at the Aragon Grand Prix as Ducati secured the MotoGP™ Constructors’ World title for the third consecutive year.

After a solid qualifying where the Australian finished with the second fastest time, the Ducati rider maintained his position off the line in Sunday’s race.

Miller couldn’t maintain his position in the subsequent laps, being passed by Enea Bastianini, Brad Binder and Aleix Espargaro to cross the line in fifth place.

“Aragon has never been a favourable track for me, so I’m quite satisfied with fifth place,” said Miller.

“After I got passed by Binder and Aleix Espargaro, I continued to have a pretty consistent pace, but it didn’t allow me to get close enough to try and pass them, and towards the end, I also started to suffer with the front.”

“In any case, I am happy, and I can’t wait to get back on track next week at Motegi.”

Jack is in fifth place in the rider standings, while Ducati leads the team classification.

Fellow countryman and Tech3 KTM Factory Racing Remy Gardner finished just outside the points in P16.

Gardner will be moving to WorldSBK next year, racing for the GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team.

The riders will be back on track in less than a week for the Japanese Grand Prix, scheduled for the 23rd - 25th of September at the Motegi circuit.
