Miller linked with KTM switch for 2023

Monday, 16 May 2022

The Aussie could be wearing orange.

Fresh off a second-place finish in Le Mans, Jack Miller has now been linked with a potential move to KTM for 2023.

With Enea Bastianini and Jorge Martin competing for Miller’s highly coveted factory seat in Ducati, the Australian has been forced to assess his options.

Bastianini just picked up his third win of the season on a satellite Ducati and is emerging as the favourite to take Miller’s spot.

Sky Sport Italia are now reporting that Miller has set his sights on moving to KTM, although it is unclear whether this would be in the factory or Tech3 team.

This will largely depend on whether Miguel Oliveira gets a contract extension in the factory squad.

A move to KTM would make sense for Miller given he’s previously enjoyed a strong relationship with their new team manager Francesco Guidotti when he was at Pramac.

Another potential option is that Miller joins his fellow countryman Remy Gardner at Tech3 to make it an Aussie dream team, should Raul Fernandez leave.

When asked about the KTM rumours by, Miller responded; “No comment.”

“There’s a lot of blokes out there talking a lot of rubbish.

“We’re one third of the way through the season, I’ve got a whole season left in these (Ducati) colours, at least, and I’m looking forward to put in as many podiums and hopefully another victory or two against my name before I either get out of these or stay in them. Either way.”

There’s still plenty to play out in the riders’ market for the rest of this season, but a manufacturer change for Miller could be a likely scenario.

The Australian now resides fifth overall in the title standings after the French MotoGP™.
